Throughout the past decades, technology applied to golf has developed considerably. In the early 90s, the increase in the size of golf drivers and the improvement of the materials allowed clubheads to increase volume to 460cc.
In the first decade of this century it was innovations in the necks that allowed players to personalize their clubs to their specific needs.
In 2015, Williams is presenting the next biggest innovation in golf, adjusting clubfaces to maximise the rebound effect at impact for various targeted speeds.
The Player Series is aimed at the core global golfer.
This line is the lifeline of the Williams Sports product line.
This series will feature equipment designed for the everyday golfer that seeks the highest in quality and performance from their equipment.
This line will be the platform for all series of equipment that Williams Sports produces.
This series will target 75% of the global golfing population and will set the bar for bar of excellence in the golf industry
in all aspects of design, performance, and production.
The new MR Williams Series (Rebound Modulus), which was launched in December 2014,
with the drivers of the Players, Ladies and Gold Series, announces a new era in the engineering and construction of golf drivers, taking advantage of the advanced F1 aerodynamics to achieve increased clubhead speed and improved performance.
The designers at Williams F1 have created three series of golf clubs that are equipped with F1 technology.
Making use of the experience and knowledge they bring to the F1 grid,
Williams have incorporated Densimet in all of their woods and irons.
Furthermore, Inconel, a nickel-based material used by Williams F1 for exhaust parts, has also been integrated in these high end, high tech golf clubs.
Williams F1 is one of the top teams in Formula One racing and its engineers, who focus on aerodynamics, applied those principles to the design of golf clubs.
It actually makes sense that a bunch of racing experts could improve the aerodynamics of the clubhead.
The bottom of the clubhead has a series of fan-like ridges (again, for aerodynamics) that give it a distinctive look.
It would be a mistake not to take Williams seriously.
They race to win in Formula One.
The Trip redirects airflow over the crown of the driver to minimize the surface area of the crown that is
affected by airflow contact, which is important in the reduction of drag.
The Winglets manage and control the air flowing around the heal and toe section of the driver,
creating a more consistent and stable path throughout the downswing and impact.
The Diffuser is a key component in diffusing and controlling the air the flows across the soleplate of
the driver, combining with the effectiveness of the Trip, to minimize the wake and density of airflow off
the rear of the driver creating a significant reduction in drag.
Fujikura WSF Graphite Shaft
The Williams Racing Golf line of products exclusively features Fujikura shafts.
These shafts are produced in Japan and manufactured to the highest Japanese standards.
Each Fujikura shaft has been custom tailored to each model of Williams products
to ensure the highest level of performance.
The Player series features a Williams Compound grip.
This grip utilizes multiple rubber compounds to create a unique feel and reduce torque.
The upper hand utilizes a black rubber combination for a firm grip in all weather conditions.
The lower hand features a softer rubber compound to ensure feel and control.
Loft 10.5, Lie 59, Head 440cc, Length 45.25", Shaft 63g, Torque 5.2, Kick mid to low
