Adams Speedline Super S White Driver -
Stripe The Fairway With A Big Drive! When TaylorMade-adidas purchased Adams in March, it said that Adams would remain its own brand and continue to grow independently. However, with the release of the new Super S and Super LS drivers, there is clear evidence of TaylorMade's influence.
Like the R11 and Burner SuperFast 2.0 that TaylorMade released two years ago, the 460-cc Super S and Super LS are Adams’s first white drivers.
The matte white crowns make then heads appear larger and contrast with the black faces to make them easier to align at address.
But the most interesting new design feature is a slot positioned in the sole. Adams calls it a "Velocity Slot," and according to Scott Burnett, the director of advanced product development for Adams, the slot is deeper in the heel and toe to allow the face of the club to flex more at impact.
The company claims this feature increases ball speeds and effectively enlarges the sweet spot.
Adams has sold hybrids and fairway woods with a similar slot, and TaylorMade's RocketBallz fairway woods and hybrids have a slot too, but this is the first time it has been built into an Adams driver. In addition, both drivers feature an adjustable loft system.
Using a torque wrench, golfers can set the Super S at 9.5°, 10.5° or 11.5°
