Cleveland 2015 CG Black Driver
Brand New Club, Headcover included
You may have noticed that you don't swing the club as fast as the pro's. In fact, research will tell you that most amateurs swing the club at least 15mph slower than the players on tour.
This has an impact on your equipment and Cleveland believe that most players don't have the swing speed to do justice to most of the current drivers on the market.
Enter the CG Black 2015 driver. Cleveland's designers started by looking at the characteristics of amateur's swings that make them less efficient, and set about creating a club to help them maximise their potential.
Moment Of Inertia (MOI) is usually thought of in terms of how the club twists at impact, the higher number, meaning less twisting, the better in terms of keeping your clubhead square and your shots straight.
However, MOI also has an impact on how easy it is for players to swing the golf club around their body, which is the key in how professionals generate their clubhead speed.
Pro's are able to cock their wrists and keep the arc of the club close to the body, something amateurs struggle with, resulting in the club being further away from their centre of rotation, greatly decreasing club head speed and therefore distance.
Cleveland has lowered this 'swing MOI' in the CG Black drivers to help promote the characteristics of a pro-like swing. This results in a higher head speed and greater distance being generated with the same swing effort.
Coupled with the fact that the CG Black drivers are so light, the standard version weighing in at 260 grams and the Custom only 275g, this gives players with slower swings the best chance of maximising distance.
The CG Black drivers also benefit from Cleveland's Variable Face Technology that helps reduce loss of distance on shots that are not struck with the centre of the club.
